JPFF EAST
Japan Private Football Federation
In 1973, the Japan Private Football Association was established by nine organizations primarily from East and West Japan, marking the formation of the private league. In 1994, it made a fresh start as Japan’s largest private league, with 56 teams participating nationwide.
As of 2020, the East Japan Branch consists of 12 teams based across five prefectures in the Kanto region, competing in a two-block league format. Following the regular season, a tournament is held to determine the East Japan champion. The winner then advances to the National Championship (Ocean Bowl) to compete for the national title against the winners from the West and Central Japan Branches.
